EMPLOYEE SUPPORT

Independent, Practical Support When You Need It

Workplace problems can be difficult to navigate, particularly when communication has broken down, relationships have become strained or you are simply unsure what to do next.

You may be dealing with a grievance, disciplinary process, workplace conflict, redundancy, a difficult relationship with a colleague or manager, concerns about reasonable adjustments, or a health-related workplace issue.

Whatever the circumstances, it can be difficult to know where to start.

Work Resolve provides independent, practical workplace support to help you understand the situation you are facing, prepare for what comes next and consider your options.

Your workplace has HR. You have Work Resolve.

Support for Employees

You do not necessarily need to wait until a situation becomes a formal dispute before seeking independent support.

Sometimes, having someone outside your workplace to talk things through with can help you step back from the situation, organise your thoughts and identify a constructive way forward.

Work Resolve can help you:

  • Understand the workplace situation you are facing

  • Organise your thoughts and identify the key issues

  • Prepare for difficult workplace conversations or meetings

  • Prepare for grievance, disciplinary or appeal processes

  • Consider the questions and points you may wish to raise

  • Think through ways of approaching workplace conflict

  • Prepare for meetings where you would benefit from having your position clearly organised

  • Consider whether early intervention could help prevent a situation from escalating

  • Identify practical next steps

Our role is not to tell you what decision to make. Instead, we help you understand the workplace issues and consider your options so that you can approach the situation with greater clarity and confidence.

What Workplace Issues Can We Help With?

Workplace problems can take many different forms, and sometimes more than one issue can be involved.

Our Workplace Issues section provides information about some of the situations employees may encounter, including:

If you are experiencing something that is not listed, that does not necessarily mean Work Resolve cannot help. An initial conversation can help establish whether our workplace support is appropriate for your circumstances.

Independent Support When You Need It

When you are involved in a workplace problem, it can be difficult to see the situation objectively.

You may be worried about saying the wrong thing, unsure how your employer will respond or simply need an opportunity to talk through what has happened with someone who is independent of your workplace.

Work Resolve is separate from your employer and is not part of your organisation's HR department.

This means you have an opportunity to discuss your circumstances independently and consider practical ways forward.

We can help you prepare for conversations and meetings without telling you what you must do.

You Don't Have to Wait for Things to Escalate

Seeking support does not mean that your situation has to be at crisis point.

In fact, early support can sometimes be particularly useful.

You may have noticed that a relationship with your manager or colleague is becoming difficult. You may be concerned about something that has happened at work. You may have received an invitation to a meeting and want to make sure you are properly prepared.

Or perhaps you have already tried to resolve an issue informally and things have not improved.

Talking through the situation at an earlier stage can help you understand what is happening and consider whether there are constructive steps you could take before the situation becomes more difficult.

Preparing for Workplace Meetings

Workplace meetings can feel daunting, particularly when you are unsure what to expect or what you should say.

Whether you are attending a meeting about a grievance, disciplinary matter, capability, attendance, reasonable adjustments or another workplace concern, preparation can help you approach the conversation more confidently.

Work Resolve can help you:

  • Clarify what you want to communicate

  • Identify the key points you want to raise

  • Organise relevant information

  • Think about questions you may want to ask

  • Consider how you might respond to difficult questions

  • Prepare yourself for the conversation ahead

The purpose is not to script your responses or tell you what outcome to seek. It is to help you feel better prepared for the workplace conversation you are about to have.

Workplace Health and Medical Needs

Health-related workplace issues can introduce additional uncertainty.

You may have questions about prescribed medication, medical cannabis and workplace drug testing, disability and reasonable adjustments, Occupational Health assessments, capability or attendance concerns, or how your medical needs are being managed at work.

Our dedicated Workplace Health page provides further information about these types of workplace situations.

Work Resolve can provide practical support around the workplace aspects of these issues, including helping you prepare for conversations with your employer and understand the questions you may need to consider.

We do not provide medical advice or advise on medication or treatment. Where you need medical advice, you should speak to an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

Workplace Conflict and Difficult Relationships

Not every workplace problem begins with a formal grievance or disciplinary process.

Sometimes the difficulty is simply that communication has broken down.

You may have an ongoing disagreement with a colleague, feel that your relationship with your manager has deteriorated, or find that conversations at work are becoming increasingly difficult.

These situations can be stressful, particularly when you still need to work alongside the people involved.

Our Workplace Conflict Resolution support focuses on helping people understand the issues involved and explore constructive ways forward where appropriate.

What Work Resolve Does – and Doesn't Do

Work Resolve provides independent workplace support, guidance and conflict-resolution assistance.

We do not provide legal advice, act as a solicitor or represent you in legal proceedings.

We also do not provide medical advice or make medical decisions.

There may be circumstances where you need to obtain specialist legal or medical advice, and we will make that distinction clear.

Our role is to help you navigate the workplace side of your situation: understand the issues, prepare for conversations and meetings, consider your options and identify practical next steps.

You can find out more about the Work Resolve approach and Steven's experience on the About Work Resolve page.

A Confidential Space to Talk Things Through

Sometimes the first step is simply having someone independent to talk to.

You do not have to arrive with everything worked out or know exactly what you want to happen.

During an initial consultation, you can explain what is happening, discuss the circumstances and explore the practical options available to you.

We can help you identify the key issues and consider what your next step might be.

Ready to Talk?

If you would like independent support with a workplace situation, you can Book an Initial Consultation with Work Resolve.

The objective is simple: to help you move from uncertainty towards greater clarity, better preparation and, where possible, a constructive way forward.

Supportive Gesture

Ready To Talk Things Through?

You don't need to know exactly what the answer is before you make contact.

If something at work is becoming difficult, an initial consultation can give you the opportunity to explain the situation, ask questions and understand what options may be available.
